Job Overview:
The IT Specialist (Data Architecture) position is a critical role within the Asian Development Bank's Information Technology Department, specifically in the IT Data and Analytics Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data architectures that align with ADB's data strategy and future needs, particularly in relation to emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). The IT Specialist will work closely with various teams to ensure that data solutions are integrated effectively and support ADB's broader vision and goals. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the IT Specialist (Data Architecture) include designing and implementing scalable data architectures that support operational systems, analytics, AI/ML workloads, and enterprise reporting. The specialist will contribute to strengthening data governance to ensure data consistency, integrity, and accessibility. They will also design and implement Master Data Management frameworks, ensuring trusted data across multiple domains. The role involves implementing best practices for data security and compliance, architecting end-to-end data solutions, and developing frameworks for data marketplaces. Additionally, the specialist will lead the integration of AI and ML capabilities into data architecture, enhance the data platform for AI-driven use cases, and establish methods for tracking data platform health. Collaboration with stakeholders to define and align the data strategy is also a key responsibility, along with mentoring data engineers and modelers.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, computer engineering, or a related field, preferably at the post-graduate level or its equivalent. A minimum of 6 years of work experience in Data Architecture is required, with international experience in multiple countries being highly desirable. The ideal candidate should have experience leading complex data programs and delivering business-driven outcomes. A solid understanding of cloud computing fundamentals, particularly with Microsoft Azure and Azure Fabric, is essential. Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure, Data Governance, or Data Architecture are preferred. Candidates should also have experience in API design, knowledge of data processing languages such as SQL, Python, or Scala, and familiarity with data security protocols and compliance regulations.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or computer engineering. A post-graduate degree or equivalent qualification is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding in the field of data architecture and technology.

Experience:
The position requires at least 6 years of relevant work experience in Data Architecture. Candidates should have a proven track record of leading complex data programs and achieving business-driven outcomes. Experience working in a multicultural environment is also important, as ADB operates in a diverse setting with various stakeholders.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, both written and verbal, as it is the primary language of communication within ADB.
