Job Overview: The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting data analysis and reporting efforts within the NDC Partnership. This position involves interpreting and synthesizing data according to the Partnership’s M&E Framework to effectively track progress and outcomes against the Work Program. The Analyst will be responsible for data collection, development of critical instruments like the Annual Member Survey, and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data. The role requires collaboration across various teams within the Support Unit, focusing on regional and programmatic activities related to climate action and sustainable development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
M&E Data Collection and Consolidation: Assist in disseminating the Annual Member Survey, coordinate data cleaning, prepare summaries of results, gather data for grant reporting, and support the Knowledge Management System.
Reporting: Support the MEL Manager in developing biannual Steering Committee Progress Reports, maintain the M&E dashboard, and assist in creating data visualizations for reports and publications.
Learning: Help foster a learning culture by organizing internal trainings, preparing workshops, and supporting evaluations of the Work Program.
Work Program and Annual Work Plans: Assist in coordinating the Partnership’s Work Program and compiling inputs for Annual Work Plans to align with goals and priorities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in fields such as climate change policy, economics, statistics, or social sciences. An advanced degree is preferred and can substitute for experience. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting, preferably within non-profit or governmental organizations. Familiarity with data visualization tools and strong writing skills are essential. Understanding of M&E systems and experience with bilateral and multilateral partners are assets.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s degree or higher. The educational background should ideally include studies in climate change policy, economics, statistics, or social sciences, which are directly applicable to the responsibilities of the M&E Analyst.
Experience: The position requires at least 2 years of relevant professional experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Candidates with more experience may be considered based on their academic credentials. Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Power BI, is essential, and familiarity with M&E data collection systems is advantageous.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language such as French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, or Portuguese is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.
Additional Notes: The contract type is an International ICA Contract at level IICA 1, ICS 08, with an initial duration of one year, subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
