The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA) was established to support the Palestinian people and institutions in addressing the social and economic challenges posed by the Israeli occupation. Job Overview:

The intern will engage in a variety of tasks that support the Subprogram's work, which focuses on the impact of the Israeli occupation on sustainable development. Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a comprehensive range of tasks that support the objectives of the Subprogram. Key responsibilities include: conducting preliminary research and drafting documents on social and economic development issues; supporting data analysis and working with databases; preparing reports on recovery policies in conflict-affected countries; assisting in the creation of charts and tables for Subprogram outputs; translating and editing various materials between English and Arabic; performing administrative and communication tasks; conducting legal and internet research on governance issues; and undertaking any additional assignments as directed by the Subprogram Director and Section Chief. This diverse set of responsibilities will provide the intern with a well-rounded experience in economic affairs and policy analysis.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet specific criteria: they should be enrolled in a graduate program or in the final year of their undergraduate studies, or have recently graduated with a relevant degree. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in standard software applications, possess a strong interest in the work of the United Nations, and show a commitment to the principles outlined in the UN Charter. The ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds is essential, as is a willingness to understand and respect differing opinions.
