Job Overview: The Political intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Affairs Intern position is designed to provide support to the Central African Republic Integrated Operational Team (CAR IOT) within the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). The internship is expected to last for a duration of three to six months, with a flexible work arrangement that can be either in-person, hybrid, or fully remote. The intern will engage in a variety of tasks that involve monitoring and analyzing political and security developments, drafting reports, and assisting in communication efforts. Duties and Responsibilities: The Political Affairs Intern will be responsible for a range of duties, including: monitoring and analyzing key political and security developments related to MINUSCA's mandate; providing daily news feeds based on situation reports and media coverage; summarizing key public and academic articles related to peacekeeping; drafting weekly reports on the political and security situation for the Security Council; assisting in the preparation of communication materials and presentations; participating in meetings and drafting minutes or summaries; conducting individual research assignments; contributing to briefing materials on peacekeeping issues; and performing any other duties as requested by supervisors. Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications: (a) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or (b) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes either a graduate degree or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as political science, international relations, or a related discipline.
