Job Overview: The consultant will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and systematizing information related to care policies and gender equality in Latin America and the Caribbean. This role is crucial for updating normative repositories, classifying official publications, and gathering relevant data from specialized web sources. The consultant will also support methodological development, monitoring, and follow-up activities for the Community of Practice aimed at measuring the Care Society. Additionally, the consultant will assist in producing analytical inputs on care policies for substantive documents generated by the Gender Affairs Division of ECLAC, aligning with the Regional Gender Agenda. The position is home-based and is expected to last for seven months, providing a flexible work environment while contributing to significant social issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and update normative repositories on care and gender equality in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Search for and classify content related to gender equality and care in official publications.
Gather and systematize information from specialized websites focusing on gender equality.
Develop methodological proposals, monitor, and follow up on activities of the Community of Practice for measuring the Care Society.
Perform other tasks related to the project and the activities of the Division.
Required Qualifications: Required: A university degree in social sciences, anthropology, political science, economics, or related fields. Desirable: A postgraduate degree, Master's, or other advanced courses. Required: At least 1 year of experience in research related to gender equality issues.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a university degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, anthropology, political science, or economics. A postgraduate degree or Master's is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and specialization in the subject matter.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of one year of experience in research related to gender equality issues. Languages: Proficiency in Spanish is required for this position, as the majority of the work will involve Spanish-language materials. Knowledge of English or another official UN language is desirable, as it may enhance the consultant's ability to engage with a broader range of resources and stakeholders.
