Job Overview: The National Consultant for Development of Information Materials for TB is tasked with creating informative materials aimed at raising awareness and educating the public about tuberculosis (TB). The consultant will work closely with health authorities and stakeholders to ensure that the materials are accurate, culturally appropriate, and effectively disseminated. The assignment is set to take place from April 2025 to October 2025, during which the consultant will be expected to engage with various partners and utilize their expertise to develop high-quality informational content that meets the needs of the target audience.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for a range of duties including:
Conducting a needs assessment to identify gaps in existing information materials related to TB.
Collaborating with health professionals and stakeholders to gather relevant data and insights.
Developing a comprehensive communication strategy that outlines the objectives, target audience, and key messages for the information materials.
Creating various types of informational content, such as brochures, posters, and digital media, ensuring that they are engaging and informative.
Reviewing and revising materials based on feedback from stakeholders and health authorities.
Organizing workshops or training sessions to educate health workers and community leaders on the use of the materials.
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the materials in raising awareness and promoting TB prevention and treatment.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in public health, communication, or a related field. They should have experience in developing educational materials, particularly in the health sector. Familiarity with tuberculosis and its public health implications is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and accessible manner. Proficiency in using design software for creating visual materials is also required.
Educational Background: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in public health, communications, social sciences, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may enhance the candidate's suitability for the role. Specialized training or certifications in health communication or public health education would be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of professional experience in public health communication, health education, or a similar role. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs, particularly in the context of tuberculosis or infectious diseases, is highly desirable. Proven track record in developing educational materials and conducting training sessions will be considered a strong asset.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all materials will need to be developed in English. Knowledge of Turkmen or Russian would be considered an advantage, as it may facilitate better communication with local stakeholders and enhance the relevance of the materials developed.
