Job Overview: The IT Analyst position within the World Bank Group is crucial for implementing IT solutions that support the organization's mission of alleviating poverty and enhancing shared prosperity. The role involves working closely with finance clients to maintain and enhance cloud-based web applications that are integral to the operations of the International Development Association (IDA) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). The IT Analyst will be part of an Agile team, responsible for delivering innovative IT solutions that align with business objectives, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of IT projects and maintenance of existing systems.
Duties and Responsibilities: The IT Analyst will report to the ITSFE team lead and will have a range of responsibilities including: supporting and maintaining cloud-based systems, implementing new IT solutions based on business requirements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to Agile practices, resolving conflicts within the team, liaising with onsite and offshore teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, assessing complex situations, providing clear user stories and acceptance criteria, coordinating business review processes, documenting key business processes, assisting in code development and testing, providing operational support for production systems, participating in user training, and collaborating with business analysts and project managers to clarify requirements. The role also involves evaluating work, contributing to test plans, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs). They should have experience working with geographically distributed teams, familiarity with industry-standard processes for systems design and Agile implementations, and a track record of eagerness to learn and contribute effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for liaising with stakeholders and facilitating meetings. Candidates should also demonstrate problem-solving abilities and a capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include a Master's degree in a relevant field with at least 2 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Candidates with experience in the finance domain or working with MDBs will be preferred. A strong academic background in information technology, business analysis, or a related field is essential for success in this role.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience for those with a Master's degree, or at least 4 years for those with a Bachelor's degree. Experience working with geographically distributed teams across different time zones is highly desirable. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, change management procedures, and the software development lifecycle is also important.
