Job Overview:
The Senior IT Assistant position at the World Bank Group in Warsaw, Poland, is designed for an experienced individual who will provide comprehensive Information Technology support and services to the office. The role involves delivering enterprise-level IT support to staff and visiting mission members, requiring close collaboration with service teams within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) unit and external vendors. The selected candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of technical and non-technical issues related to desktop computing services. This position demands a strong on-site presence, as the incumbent will work five days a week at the Warsaw office. The role is crucial in ensuring that all IT systems and services function effectively, thereby enabling the World Bank Group to fulfill its mission of alleviating poverty and enhancing shared prosperity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior IT Assistant will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: serving as the primary contact for all hardware, software, and communications support; maintaining the end-user IT environment; assessing and implementing hardware and software upgrades; managing telephony and video conferencing systems; responding to Tier I support requests via phone, email, and chat; documenting incident statuses and resolutions; assisting in the procurement of IT equipment; collecting feedback on IT services; and ensuring compliance with the Bank's information security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-policies" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security policies. The role also involves configuring and troubleshooting PCs and peripheral devices, maintaining an inventory of IT equipment, and providing training and support to staff on standard applications. The incumbent will be expected to stay updated on technological advancements and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT services.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems management, or a related field, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience. Industry certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft, or A+ are preferred. A deep understanding of information systems technology, including common applications, operating systems, hardware, networks, and messaging systems, is essential. The candidate should demonstrate strong customer service skills, the ability to assess complex problems, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement in technical expertise. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of making informed decisions based on client needs and business operations.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or information systems management. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complexities of IT systems and for effectively supporting the technological needs of the World Bank Group.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of experience in a related field, with a strong emphasis on hands-on experience in resolving common IT issues. Languages:

This is a temporary position with a term duration of one year, subject to renewal at the discretion of the World Bank Group. The role is classified under local recruitment, meaning that it is intended for candidates residing in Poland. The selected candidate will be offered a one-year appointment, which counts towards a maximum of three years for ET appointments. The position is full-time, requiring on-site presence at the Warsaw office five days a week.
