Job Overview:
The IT Officer for IT Service Continuity will play a crucial role in ensuring the resilience of IT operations within the World Bank Group. This position is situated within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit, which is responsible for delivering transformative information and technologies to staff across over 150 locations. The officer will support the IT Service Continuity team in responding to major incidents, reviewing availability and resiliency requirements for new systems, and maintaining IT Resiliency and Disaster Recovery Plans. The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. The officer will also be involved in developing and testing IT service continuity plans and ensuring alignment with Business Continuity Management programs across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The IT Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: supporting the IT Service Continuity team during major incidents, collaborating with project teams to assess resiliency requirements for new systems, maintaining and evolving the IT Resiliency testing program, developing and documenting IT Resiliency and Disaster Recovery Plans, liaising with the IT community to facilitate testing and reporting on disaster recovery capabilities, designing resiliency exercises for technical components, reviewing exercise outcomes to identify risks and areas for improvement, collaborating with team members on project deliverables, ensuring coordination with Business Continuity Teams, tracking and reporting on risks, benchmarking capabilities against best practices, and providing recommendations to reduce resiliency risks.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Service Continuity Management, Crisis Management, or a related field, or a Master’s Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience. A good understanding of IT Service Management and information systems technology is essential, including familiarity with common computer applications, operating systems, hardware, networks, and application development. Experience managing large-scale enterprise platforms, navigating complex organizational structures, and working with DevSecOps pipelines is highly desirable. Strong writing and analytical skills, along with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly, are also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Service Continuity Management, Crisis Management, or a related field is required. A Master’s Degree in a relevant area is preferred and may substitute for some experience requirements. Certification in ITIL Foundations or higher, as well as a Cloud Certification (Associate or higher level in AWS or Azure), is mandatory. Additional certifications such as Certified Business Resilience IT Professional and DevOps Engineer Certification are preferred.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience for candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 5 years for those with a Master’s Degree. Candidates should have experience managing and supporting large-scale enterprise platforms throughout their lifecycle, whether on-premises or in the cloud. Familiarity with IT resiliency, disaster recovery strategies, and navigating large, matrixed organizations is crucial. Experience in developing or reviewing code in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure is also beneficial.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. While no additional languages are specified as preferred, knowledge of other languages may enhance communication in a diverse work environment.
