Job Overview: The IT Analyst position within the World Bank Group's Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) is critical for supporting the organization's mission of ending extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity. The role focuses on ensuring the resilience of IT operations through the development and implementation of IT Service Continuity strategies. The analyst will work closely with various teams to maintain and evolve the IT Resiliency testing program, ensuring that the IT disaster recovery position is robust and aligned with the institutional business continuity strategy. This position requires a strong background in information technology and IT service continuity, as well as excellent analytical and writing skills. The analyst will be responsible for liaising with technical teams, developing documentation, and providing recommendations to reduce resiliency risks, all while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: The IT Analyst will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including supporting the IT Resiliency testing program, developing and maintaining IT Resiliency and Disaster Recovery Plans, and liaising with the IT community to facilitate ongoing testing and reporting. The analyst will work with technical teams to design resiliency exercises, review outcomes to identify risks and areas for improvement, and collaborate on project deliverables with team members. Additionally, the analyst will maintain transparent reports on resiliency risks, provide recommendations to business units, and support the IT Service Continuity team during major incidents. The role requires a proactive approach to managing multiple tasks and deadlines while ensuring effective communication and collaboration across various teams.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field, along with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in business continuity management, IT Service Continuity, IT Service Management, crisis management, or operational risk management. A good understanding of IT Service Management and information systems technology is essential, as well as strong writing and editing skills in English. The ability to navigate large, matrixed organizations and work collaboratively in a multi-cultural environment is crucial. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complexity and interdependencies effectively.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field is required. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in business continuity management and IT service management principles, as well as an understanding of information systems technology, including common applications, operating systems, and networks.
Experience: The position requires 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in fields such as business continuity management, IT Service Continuity, IT Service Management, crisis management, or operational risk management. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to deliver information effectively and work collaboratively within teams, particularly in complex organizational structures.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English, with a strong command required for effective communication. While no additional languages are specified as preferred, proficiency in other languages may be beneficial in a diverse work environment.
