Job Overview:
The ICT Analyst - Fullstack AI Engineer position is crucial for the success of the UN Global Pulse Disha initiative, which focuses on developing data and AI products as digital public goods. The role involves deploying large-scale AI models and supporting solutions for data scientists and engineers within the Disha platform. The Fullstack AI Engineer will work closely with backend and frontend engineers to ensure high availability of data pipelines and machine learning models. This position requires a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and the ability to contribute to model deployment, UI/UX design, and quality assurance processes. The engineer will play a vital role in enhancing the capabilities of social and humanitarian actors to leverage AI and big data for sustainable development and disaster response.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Fullstack AI Engineer include implementing supporting systems for Disha’s analytics services, such as developing mechanisms for ML experiment tracking and predictive serving. The engineer will support data scientists in model exploration and assist data engineers in building data pipelines. Additionally, the role involves implementing external data access connections, ensuring seamless data flow, and monitoring model performance. The engineer will also contribute to quality assurance by maintaining clean data splits for ML model development and implementing health checks for analytics services. Overall, the position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration with various teams to achieve Disha’s objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in computer science or a related field, with an advanced degree being an advantage. A minimum of two years of experience in data-intensive applications, machine learning, or data science is required. Experience in designing and deploying cloud-based data-driven applications, programming with Python, and familiarity with ML/AI frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch is desirable. Knowledge of MLOps best practices and experience with BI tools are also preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences are essential.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in computer science or a related field. An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) is considered an advantage, indicating a higher level of expertise and knowledge in the field.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in engineering data-intensive applications, machine learning, or data science. Candidates should have a proven track record in designing and deploying data-driven applications in cloud environments, as well as experience in predictive analysis and reporting/visualization. Familiarity with programming languages and frameworks commonly used in AI and machine learning is also necessary.

Languages:
Full working knowledge of English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is considered an asset, enhancing communication capabilities within the diverse UNOPS workforce.

Additional Notes:
The contract type for this position is an Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA), with a contract level of ICS 8 / IICA 1 / LICA
