Job Overview:
The Women’s Political Forum & School Coordinator will play a crucial role in enhancing women's leadership and participation in decision-making processes. This position involves coordinating the Women’s Political Forum and leading the Political School initiative in 202
  • The consultant will facilitate multi-stakeholder engagement, foster partnerships with political parties and civil society organizations, and develop training and mentorship initiatives aimed at empowering women leaders. The role requires a strategic approach to organizing forums, policy dialogues, and capacity-building programs that enhance women's political agency and representation. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Assistant Country Representative for Gender Responsive Governance and the Programme Analyst, ensuring alignment with UN Women’s strategic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The coordinator will oversee and implement activities that promote women's political participation through the Women’s Political Forum and the Political School. Key responsibilities include designing, planning, and executing the Women’s Political Forum to create a platform for dialogue and advocacy among women in political parties. The coordinator will engage with political representatives to foster an inclusive environment for women's participation, organize discussions and training sessions, and support political parties in developing Gender Mainstreaming Strategies. Additionally, the coordinator will manage the Political School, developing its 2025 program, designing curriculum and training materials, and facilitating mentorship opportunities for aspiring women leaders. Reporting and knowledge management tasks include preparing analytical reports, documenting meeting outcomes, and maintaining a database of women politicians and stakeholders in Jordan's political landscape.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess expertise in gender-responsive governance and women's political participation, with strong knowledge of political systems and electoral processes from a gender perspective. They should have facilitation and training skills, with the ability to design and deliver training programs for diverse audiences. Proven experience in policy development and advocacy is essential, along with strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and networking. Candidates should demonstrate analytical and research skills, project management experience, and effective communication abilities. Conflict resolution and negotiation skills are also important, as is the capacity to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in political science, Gender Studies, International Relations, Law, or related fields is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional qualifying experiences may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.

Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in governance, political participation, or gender equality programs is required. Candidates should have proven expertise in organizing political training programs and forums, experience working with political parties and civil society organizations, and strong advocacy and program management skills. Familiarity with Jordan's political landscape and electoral processes is desirable, along with excellent analytical skills and the ability to work independently. Experience in using office software and web-based management systems is also required, while experience working within the UN System is considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is required for this position, ensuring effective communication and engagement with diverse stakeholders.

This consultancy is office-based, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
