Job Overview:
The Language Specialist (Translator) position is integral to the IAEA's mission of effective communication and dissemination of information. The incumbent will be part of a team that translates, drafts, and edits a variety of content, including administrative, legal, scientific, and technical documents. This role requires a high level of proficiency in English, as the translations must maintain the original meaning and style. The Language Specialist will also be responsible for clarifying language points for other teams, researching terminology, and suggesting improvements to workflows. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Language Specialist (Translator) will undertake a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: translating a wide array of documents into English, ensuring accuracy and stylistic consistency; editing English content as needed; drafting official records of meetings and other documents; clarifying language points for other language service teams; researching terminology to enhance the central terminology database; and performing additional duties to support the Language Services Section. The incumbent is expected to propose innovative solutions to improve service efficiency and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in languages or a related field, with degrees in other relevant fields considered. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in translating texts into English is required, with experience in an international organization viewed as a strong asset. The candidate must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English, with a deep understanding of its grammar, style, and usage. Familiarity with the IAEA's operations is advantageous, as is knowledge of Microsoft Office software and IT translation tools, particularly Trados Studio and MultiTerm.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor's Degree in languages or a related field. Degrees in other fields may be considered appropriate if they align with the job's responsibilities. The emphasis is on having a solid foundation in language skills, which is critical for the translation and editing tasks involved in this role.

Experience:
The position requires at least five years of relevant working experience in translating texts into English. Languages:

Additional Notes:
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $70,212, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance. The package also includes a variable post adjustment currently amounting to US $28,085, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses.
