Job Overview: The Quality Manager (Dosimetry Laboratory) plays a crucial role in supporting the IAEA's dosimetry services by providing technical support and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) documentation. This position involves coordinating all integrated QMS related activities, contributing to research and development (R&D) work, and mentoring scientific visitors and IAEA fellows in dosimetry audit and calibration QMS procedures. The Quality Manager is expected to be a technical specialist in dosimetry instrumentation, calibration, and audit methodologies, while also being responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving the dosimetry laboratory's integrated quality and safety management system. Duties and Responsibilities: The Quality Manager (Dosimetry Laboratory) is responsible for coordinating QMS related activities in the Dosimetry Laboratory as the DOL Quality Manager. This includes overseeing the implementation of quality assurance programs, maintaining the DOL QMS, reviewing it for improvements, arranging internal and external audits, and maintaining records of customer complaints, corrective actions, and the risk register. The incumbent will contribute to the implementation of dosimetry auditing services, ensuring quality assurance of data processing and preparing reports on audit results. Additionally, the Quality Manager will execute quality control procedures relevant to auditing services, analyze results using statistical models, identify deviations and possible causes, and suggest improvements in auditing procedures. The role also involves contributing to the DOL R&D work, providing measurement support to coordinated research projects in dosimetry, and mentoring scientific visitors and training IAEA fellows in dosimetry audit and calibration QMS procedures. It is important to note that the incumbent may work in areas involving exposure to radioactive materials and must be medically cleared by VIC Medical Service, subject to an appropriate radiation and health monitoring program.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Dosimetry or Medical Radiation Physics, with an advanced university degree being an asset. A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in radiation dosimetry is required, along with experience in dosimetry and instrumentation systems related to calibration and auditing. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems used in radiation dosimetry is essential, as is experience in contributing to research and development projects related to radiation dosimetry. The ability to mentor, teach, or tutor is also necessary, along with excellent oral and written command of English. Additional Notes: The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $70,212, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance. Additionally, a variable post adjustment currently amounts to US $28,085, along with dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation, and repatriation expenses. Other benefits include six weeks of annual leave, home leave travel, a pension plan, and health insurance.
