Job Overview: The Administrative Officer will play a crucial role in the Enterprise Resource Planning Management Section (ERPMS) of the OHCHR. Duties and Responsibilities: The Administrative Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including leading Umoja/ERP system deployment activities, serving as the Umoja Security Liaison Officer, and providing user support. The officer will develop internal guidelines, generate analytics reports, and design training materials. Conducting training sessions and system demonstrations will also be part of the role. In terms of human resources management, the officer will coordinate actions related to recruitment, placement, promotion, performance appraisal, job classification reviews, and staff separation, ensuring consistency with UN rules and procedures. The officer will take the lead in preparing and implementing the work programme, ensuring financial resources are utilized effectively. Monitoring and reviewing the work programme and budget will involve conducting regular assessments of actual work versus the programme plan. The officer will also oversee procurement, billing, and operational travel programmes, ensuring the adequacy of departmental space requirements and identifying office technology needs. Other related work may be required as necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of administrative, budgetary, financial, and human resources policies and procedures. Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management, or a related field is required. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in data analytics or a related area, which is desirable. Experience as a SAP ERP Security Liaison Officer and in delivering SAP ERP trainings in different functional areas is also desirable. Additionally, experience in a project management setting will be beneficial for this role.
Languages: Fluency in English and French (both oral and written) is required, as these are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of another UN official language is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a multilingual environment.
