Job Overview: The ServiceNow Developer position is situated within the Service Management and Support Group at CERN, which is responsible for promoting best practices and tools in service management across the organization. Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the ServiceNow Developer include contributing to new developments and customizations of the ServiceNow platform, specifically aimed at improving the end-user experience on the CERN Service Portal. This includes implementing guided search schemes and AI features. The developer will also review the synchronization of location information across various platforms to eliminate discrepancies. Collaboration with the Service Desk and other stakeholders is essential to design and implement a new user interface for supporters across CERN. Additionally, the developer will be responsible for the operation, configuration, and support of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring high availability, managing end-user support duties, and applying patches and upgrades released by the platform provider. The developer will also handle ticket management for over 750 services across CERN, ensuring efficient service delivery.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have strong programming skills, particularly in JavaScript, with Python knowledge considered a plus. Familiarity with web application debugging and web services (REST/SOAP) is required, along with experience in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and jQuery. Knowledge of AngularJS is advantageous. Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English and demonstrate a commitment to learning French. Eligibility criteria include being a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State, having a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Computing or a related field, and holding either a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Applicants without a university degree or with a PhD are not eligible.
