Job Overview: The position involves recruiting a consultant to conduct a study on the impact of corruption on gender within the framework of the LUCCEI II project. This study is expected to last for two months, during which the consultant will work a total of 30 days. The consultant will be responsible for analyzing the procurement processes and how corruption affects gender dynamics in these processes. The role requires a deep understanding of both corruption and gender issues, as well as the ability to provide actionable recommendations based on the findings of the study. The consultant will be expected to engage with various stakeholders, collect data, and present the findings in a comprehensive report.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will have several key responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting a thorough literature review on the impact of corruption on gender; designing a methodology for the study that includes qualitative and quantitative research methods; collecting data through interviews, surveys, and focus groups; analyzing the data to identify trends and correlations; preparing a detailed report that outlines the findings, conclusions, and recommendations; presenting the findings to UNDP and other stakeholders; and ensuring that all work is completed within the specified timeline of 30 working days over two months. The consultant may also be required to participate in meetings and workshops to discuss the study's progress and findings.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in research methodologies, particularly in the fields of corruption and gender studies. They should have proven experience in conducting similar studies or evaluations, with a track record of delivering high-quality reports. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable recommendations are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Educational Background: A master's degree or higher in social sciences, public policy, gender studies, or a related field is required. Candidates with a PhD or equivalent experience in relevant areas will be given preference. Additional certifications or training in research methodologies or anti-corruption measures will be considered an asset.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of professional experience in conducting research or evaluations related to corruption and gender issues. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of UNDP or similar agencies, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the political and social landscape of Mali and previous work experience in the region will be advantageous.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, as the study will be conducted in Mali where French is the official language. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for reporting and communication with international stakeholders. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Mali would be an added advantage.
Additional Notes: This position is for an individual contractor and is expected to be a short-term engagement lasting for two months. The consultant will be required to submit their proposals directly through the UNDP supplier portal by the specified deadline. The position is part-time, with a total of 30 working days expected over the two-month period. Compensation will be based on the consultant's qualifications and experience, and will be discussed during the selection process.
