Job Overview:
The Field Coordinator is responsible for leading the base operations in Al-Mokha and Taiz, focusing on strategic development and management. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to navigate a challenging funding environment while enhancing the capacity of national staff. The Field Coordinator will work closely with the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team to identify funding opportunities and develop strategies for accessing new areas. The position also involves reinforcing security protocols and conducting context analysis to ensure smooth operations in a complex security environment. The first few months will prioritize capacity building, partnership development, and strategic networking to enhance the mission's impact.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Coordinator will oversee the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the base operations in Al-Mokha and Taiz, ensuring effective implementation of programs.
  • Develop and execute strategies for funding opportunities and partnerships.
  • Enhance the capacity of national staff through training and mentorship.
  • Implement and reinforce security protocols to ensure the safety of staff and operations.
  • Conduct regular context analysis to adapt strategies to the evolving security landscape.
  • Coordinate with other humanitarian actors to strengthen collaboration and resource sharing.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and impact, making necessary adjustments.
  • Report to the coordination team on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Engage with local authorities and stakeholders to facilitate access and support for humanitarian efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong project management abilities, particularly in multi-sectoral programming.
  • Experience in donor engagement and proposal writing.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a challenging and unpredictable environment.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required, preferably in fields related to humanitarian aid, international development, or project management. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the humanitarian sector and its challenges.

Experience:
Candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 0-2 years in a similar position. Experience in managing projects and leading teams in challenging environments is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage. Strong communication skills in both languages will enhance the candidate's effectiveness in the role.

  • The role is based in Al-Mokha and Taiz, Yemen, and involves navigating a complex security environment. The salary starts from EUR 2860 gross per month, with additional benefits including a monthly per diem of USD 700, accommodation coverage, and travel expenses. Expatriates will also receive an insurance package covering healthcare expenses and a welfare system for war risks. Breaks are provided every two months, along with additional rest days for each month worked. Living conditions include good guest house facilities with access to a gym and internet, although social life may be limited due to security constraints.
