Job Overview:
The Assistant Order Filling Clerk will play a crucial role in the timely preparation of philatelic items and the fulfillment of customer orders. The contractor will work under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of the Mail and Operations Unit and will be responsible for assembling order batches and managing stock movements as requested. The role also involves affixing stamps on First Day Covers (FDCs) according to established samples, ensuring that all mail-outs are checked, sorted, recorded, and distributed efficiently. The contractor will assist during peak workload periods to meet critical deadlines, which may include manual tasks such as collecting stamps and philatelic deliveries from the receiving area and organizing them in the appropriate stockroom. This position is essential for maintaining the operational flow of the UNPA's philatelic services and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare philatelic items and fulfill customer orders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate and error-free cancellations of stamps.
  • Handle, sort, and arrange philatelic items appropriately.
  • Assist in preparing materials for order filling and manage stock movements as requested.
  • Affix stamps on First Day Covers (FDCs) according to agreed samples.
  • Check, sort, record, and distribute mail-outs efficiently.
  • Assist in peak workload assignments to meet critical deadlines.
  • Collect stamps and philatelic deliveries from the receiving area.

Required Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Limited working experience, preferably in affixing stamps on covers, is required.
  • Experience in a philatelic-oriented business is required.
  • Good manual skills for handling stamps and other philatelic products are required.
  • Professionalism, client-orientation, and a sense of responsibility are essential.
  • Good knowledge of UNPA philatelic products is desirable.
  • Familiarity with postal rules and regulations is desirable.
  • Flexibility in working days is desirable.

Educational Background:
The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for the role, particularly in handling philatelic items and understanding basic postal operations.

Experience:
