Job Overview: The Programme Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of UNFPA's Gender-Based Violence (GBV) portfolio and Youth and Peace programming in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This position involves providing integrated programmatic and operational support, which is essential for the effective execution of UNFPA's country programme. The Programme Associate will assist in the design, planning, and management of various projects by managing data inputs, offering logistical support, monitoring project implementation, and ensuring follow-up on recommendations. Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Associate will be responsible for several key tasks, including participating in the formulation of the country programme and component projects by compiling and analyzing relevant information, drafting project documents, and preparing statistical data. They will support the evaluation of project activities, establish assessment methods, and recommend corrective actions as necessary. The role involves conducting field visits, participating in review meetings, and preparing regular inputs for status and progress reports. The Programme Associate will guide the routine implementation of assigned projects, coordinate the delivery of project inputs, and ensure national counterparts' participation in training activities. Additionally, they will manage logistical, administrative, and financial arrangements for various events, liaise with event management companies, and support procurement and HR processes. The Programme Associate will also assist in implementing knowledge management strategies to capture lessons learned and best practices, raising requisitions in the ERP system, and performing other duties as required by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess completed secondary level education (high school or equivalent) in business administration or other social sciences. A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in programme or project management is required, or four years of experience with a first-level (or advanced) university degree. Proven experience in managing and implementing policies, processes, and systems in development organizations or the private sector is essential. Previous experience in implementing UN projects is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate excellent technical and organizational skills, the ability to analyze financial information, and the capacity to produce clear and concise analytical reports. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary, particularly the ability to operate under tight schedules.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes completed secondary level education, which is mandatory. A degree in business administration or social sciences is preferred, and candidates with higher education qualifications may have an advantage in the selection process.
Experience: The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically seven years in programme or project management.
