Job Overview: The logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager will be responsible for implementing and supervising all logistics operations at the assigned base in Mykolayiv. This role involves organizing logistic support for programs in accordance with Solidarités International procedures and assisting the Field Coordinator in implementing security rules. The Logistics Manager will supervise the logistics department team, pursue departmental objectives, and provide methodological support to program and support teams on technical logistics questions. The position requires a proactive approach to ensure that the logistics department is well integrated with all other departments and coherent with all coordinators and managers. The role also includes addressing challenges such as team turnover and maintaining a positive dynamic within the department while familiarizing oneself with SI Ukraine's supply processes.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Manager's duties include supervising the logistics department team, implementing departmental objectives, providing advice and methodological support on logistics-related technical questions, ensuring cross-departmental integration, and maintaining communication with program departments. The manager will also be responsible for managing procurement processes, capacity-building within the team, and budget follow-up. Additionally, the Logistics Manager must prioritize tasks effectively, maintain a positive team dynamic, and prepare a learning plan for the team. The role requires addressing security constraints and ensuring that logistics operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Humanitarian Logistic Management and have at least 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a minimum of 5 years in similar positions. Specific technical skills required include expertise in procurement processes, management and capacity-building, and budget follow-up. Candidates should also demonstrate solution-oriented thinking, the ability to establish clear communication schemes with program departments, and effective prioritization skills.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in Humanitarian Logistic Management is required for this position. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics in humanitarian settings and for effectively managing logistics operations in challenging environments.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 5 years in similar logistics roles. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the operational challenges and requirements of logistics management in humanitarian contexts, particularly in crisis situations such as those faced in Ukraine.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of Ukrainian is considered an asset, as it would facilitate communication with local staff and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The position is a short-term contract with a duration of 6 months, starting as soon as possible. The salary is based on experience, starting from EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 700 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a system of alternating work and time off, allowing for breaks every three months, with additional rest days granted for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package that covers healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs.
