Job Overview: The Head of Analytics, Budgeting & Management is tasked with providing authoritative advice and leadership on financial resource planning and budgeting. This role involves leading the unit in developing strategies, policies, and tools for resource planning and budget management tailored to the needs of UNOPS offices. The position requires a strong focus on results-based budgeting, data analytics, and continuous process improvements, ensuring that financial functions align with UNOPS's strategic objectives. The Head will also oversee the preparation of budget proposals, compliance with budget policies, and the development of management reports to facilitate informed decision-making across the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Head of Analytics, Budgeting & Management include leading the overall budget preparation process, designing strategic approaches to results-based budgeting, overseeing budget proposal submissions, providing guidance on budget management, ensuring compliance with policies, and representing UNOPS in relevant financial networks. Additionally, the role involves driving the alignment of UNOPS results frameworks with development objectives, overseeing financial data integrity, developing innovative analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis solutions, and coordinating the development of data collection platforms. Alternatively, a combination of an undergraduate degree with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted. A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting, financial management, or related fields is required, along with experience in managing teams and overseeing financial systems. Knowledge of results-based management and budgeting is essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as financial management, economics, or business administration. Candidates with an undergraduate degree may be considered if they have additional work experience that compensates for the lack of an advanced degree.
