Job Overview:
The Communication and Outreach Specialist position is a unique opportunity to contribute to the mission of UNDP and UNV in Sudan. The role is designed to enhance communication strategies that promote volunteerism and the impact of UNDP's work. The specialist will be responsible for creating and disseminating communication materials that highlight the contributions of volunteers and the organization's initiatives. This position requires a blend of creativity and strategic thinking to effectively engage with various stakeholders and promote civic engagement. The specialist will work closely with the UNDP communications team and will dedicate equal time to both UNDP and UNV, ensuring that the communication efforts align with national and global sustainable development goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communication and Outreach Specialist will undertake a variety of tasks, including designing communication tools and materials to promote volunteerism and the UNV program. Responsibilities include supporting the UNDP/UNV communications team through research and creation of stories, managing media relations, organizing communications field trips, and updating online platforms. The specialist will produce engaging materials such as flyers, newsletters, videos, and infographics that showcase volunteer contributions. Additionally, the role involves drafting high-quality presentations, press releases, and concept notes, managing social media presence, and organizing outreach events. The specialist will also maintain a database of volunteer organizations and facilitate recruitment efforts, ensuring effective communication across diverse audiences by translating materials between Arabic and English.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Communication and Outreach Specialist position should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to create compelling content. Experience in communications, public relations, or a related field is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate creativity and adaptability, with a strong understanding of social media platforms and digital communication strategies. Additionally, the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders is crucial. Languages:

Additional Notes:
This is a national UN Volunteer assignment, and the selected candidate will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The position offers a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of USD 1,983.9 per month, intended to cover basic living costs. The role requires flexibility and a willingness to work in challenging conditions, reflecting the unique context of Sudan. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan, ensuring their safety and well-being during their service.
