Job Overview: The Chief, NY Facilities and Administration is responsible for managing UNICEF's New York buildings, including real estate planning, capital project development, space management, and customer helpdesk services. Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead strategic planning and management of the New York Headquarters facilities, ensuring they are safe, accessible, and environmentally sustainable.
Oversee real estate planning, space management, and capital project development for NYHQ facilities.
Manage operations and maintenance of the premises, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, cleaning, and environmental compliance.
Administer travel policy, ensuring cost-effective travel solutions and facilitating diplomatic visa processes.
Establish and enhance records management and archiving policies for secure and compliant data storage.
Ensure that the facilities support UNICEF’s mission and operational needs, particularly in preparation for the UN House building ownership in 2026.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Valuation & Real Estate, Finance and Investment, Business Administration, Property Management, Facilities Management, or related fields.
Work Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in Financial Management, Planning, Facilities Management, Real Estate Planning, Space Management, Operations and Maintenance, Environmental Compliance, and Travel Policy Administration.
Skills: Strong skills in sustainability, records management, facilities operations, property maintenance, travel policy, and strategic planning are essential.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or an equivalent advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Valuation & Real Estate, Finance and Investment, Business Administration, Property Management, or Facilities Management. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of facilities management and real estate planning.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in areas such as Financial Management, Planning, Facilities Management, Real Estate Planning, Space Management, Operations and Maintenance, Environmental Compliance, and Travel Policy Administration. This extensive experience is necessary to effectively manage the diverse responsibilities associated with the role.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered desirable.
