Job Overview:
The Operations Coordinator role at the Nigeria INGO Forum is designed to act as a pivotal link between the diverse activities of the NIF and its core objectives. The individual in this position will report directly to the NIF Director and will play a crucial role in managing finances, overseeing grants, and strengthening member relations. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to excellence, as the Coordinator will foster effective coordination across various functions, positioning NIF as a leading entity in humanitarian, recovery, and developmental efforts in Nigeria. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including compliance with NRC and NIF approved policies and procedures, coordination of operational planning and logistics activities, and ensuring proper documentation and filing of support documents. The Coordinator will also be responsible for managing financial reporting, grant management, and membership support management, ensuring that all activities align with the organization's mission and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Operations Coordinator include but are not limited to:
  • Finance Support: Prepare and submit financial reports and analyses, ensuring compliance with anti-corruption, transparency, and cost efficiency in all processes, including procurement and asset management. Manage and monitor cash flow of Membership Fees in accordance with host agency finance procedures. Work with the NIF Director to ensure compliance with donor and host agency regulations.
  • Grants Management: Support the development of proposals and grants reporting in close coordination with the NIF Deputy Director. Manage reporting deadlines and consolidate reports from team members, maintaining necessary records and databases pertinent to grants management.
  • Membership Support Management: Directly manage and coordinate NIF working groups, organize regular meetings/workshops, and provide updates to the NIF Director. Support new INGO members with relevant information and manage the application process for prospective members.
  • Administrative Management: Support the recruitment process and manage procurement, financial, and administrative systems in compliance with host agency and donor requirements. Oversee the management of assets and ensure operational support activities are provided efficiently.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager, ensuring that all activities align with NIF's objectives and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Operations Coordinator position include a university degree or an equivalent qualification in business administration, finance, social sciences, or a relevant field. Candidates should have experience in coordination within a humanitarian or recovery context, with documented results in related responsibilities. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory. Specific skills and knowledge required include financial management experience, budget development and monitoring, and basic accounting skills. Experience in logistics procedures and stakeholder management is also essential, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments and possess excellent writing, editing, and analytical abilities.

Educational Background:
