Job Overview:
The Data Collector position is crucial for the successful implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) processes within NRC. The ideal candidate will be dependable and self-driven, responsible for conducting interviews and collecting data from households and program participants. This role involves day-to-day coordination with the MEL Coordinator and requires adherence to NRC's guidelines and protocols during data collection. The Data Collector will engage in various assessments, including Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM), outcome surveys, routine monitoring surveys, and client satisfaction surveys. The position demands flexibility in working hours, including weekends and evenings, and requires travel to designated geographical areas for data collection.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Collector will conduct interviews to gather MEL data, ensuring accuracy and completeness in data recording. Responsibilities include verifying data, conducting follow-up interviews, reporting issues to the Supervisor, and performing regular spot checks at NRC static points. The role also involves organizing Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) to collect qualitative data. The Data Collector must maintain confidentiality and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of data, utilize electronic devices for data recording, and perform any additional tasks assigned by the line manager to support project objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum academic qualification of HSC or Diploma. They should have subject-based content knowledge and 6 months to 1 year of experience in data collection. Experience in survey enumeration, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and supporting peers in professional development is preferred. Familiarity with online data collection platforms, such as KOBO, is advantageous. Proficiency in the Chittagonian or Rohingya language is preferred, and prior work experience in the Rohingya refugee camp context is a plus.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes at least a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or a Diploma. Candidates should have relevant subject-based knowledge that aligns with the responsibilities of data collection and analysis.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have between 6 months to 1 year of experience in data collection, preferably in a humanitarian context. Experience in monitoring and evaluation, as well as familiarity with data collection methodologies, is essential for success in this role.

Languages:
Proficiency in the Chittagonian or Rohingya language is mandatory for this position, as it is crucial for effective communication with the target population. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The Data Collector position is based in Ukhiya and Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, with a contract duration of 6 months. There are 2 positions available, and the role involves approximately 90% travel to camps and host community areas. The salary for this position is set at a gross monthly salary of 33,000 BDT, with pro-rata adjustments for partial months worked.
