The translator will be responsible for ensuring that the document, which is approximately 5,000-6,000 words long, is accurately translated and presented in a manner suitable for design and publishing. The role requires a deep understanding of both languages and the ability to convey the intended message clearly and effectively, while also adhering to the formatting requirements necessary for publication.
Duties and Responsibilities: The individual contractor will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:
Translate the UN in Lebanon: 2024 Results Report from English to Arabic, ensuring accuracy and clarity in the translation.
Edit the translated content for grammatical correctness, coherence, and adherence to the original document's intent.
Format the report according to the design specifications provided, which may include working with infographics, captions, lists, titles, and graphs.
Collaborate with UN staff to clarify any ambiguities in the source text and ensure that the translation meets the organization's standards.
Submit the completed report within the specified timeframe of three weeks, ensuring that all components are included and properly formatted for publication.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in translation, Arabic, Business, International Studies, or a related field.
