Job Overview:
The Analyst position at EBRD focuses on supporting the financing of energy projects in Egypt, particularly those related to renewable energy, green hydrogen, and battery storage solutions. The role involves working on debt facilities and contributing to various phases of the project cycle, including project origination, structuring, execution, and implementation. The Analyst will be responsible for conducting comprehensive due diligence, analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, and financial modeling, ensuring compliance with EBRD policies. This position requires collaboration with senior bankers and project teams, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and effective communication in achieving project goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will undertake a variety of tasks under the guidance of the operation leader or senior bankers, including:
  • Structuring and Execution: Collaborating with project teams on transactions, particularly those co-financed by the Clean Technology Fund (CTF). This includes conducting research, analyzing financial performance data, and assessing risks associated with proposed projects.
  • Assisting in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance, preparing necessary documentation to support investment projects.
  • Communicating with internal units, clients, and stakeholders, preparing correspondence and presentations as needed.
  • Ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks while adhering to the Bank's policies and objectives.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Monitoring project implementation and compliance with agreements, preparing draft monitoring reports, and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
  • Supporting the implementation and monitoring of Technical Cooperation assignments, ensuring compliance with donor reporting requirements. The Analyst's responsibilities will evolve as they gain experience, allowing for increased complexity in tasks and scope.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. A strong interest and understanding of the energy industry in Egypt is desirable. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong quantitative skills, credit analysis capabilities, and advanced financial modeling proficiency. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial analysis tools is essential, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong written and oral communication skills in English are required, and proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, as it indicates a higher level of expertise and understanding of complex financial concepts and practices. Candidates with equivalent professional experience in finance or related areas may also be considered.

Experience:
Candidates should have relevant financial industry experience in Egypt, ideally from investment or commercial banks, private equity firms, asset management firms, or auditing/financial consulting firms that adhere to international standards. Previous experience in project finance or corporate debt is advantageous, as is exposure to the energy sector or similar industries. The role is designed for individuals who are looking to develop their skills and take on increasing responsibilities over time.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. A good command of Arabic is considered an advantage, as it facilitates communication with local stakeholders and enhances the Analyst's ability to engage with projects in the region.

Additional Notes:
The position is a fixed-term contract lasting for 2 years, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.
