Job Overview: The People Development Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Talent Development Unit within the Office of Human Resources (OHR) at UNDP. This position is centered around implementing learning initiatives that enhance role readiness and professional growth for people managers within the organization. The analyst will be responsible for developing scalable solutions, conducting market research, and fostering strategic partnerships to equip UNDP personnel, particularly mid-level supervisors, with essential skills. The role emphasizes the importance of digital learning innovations and data-driven improvements to contribute to building an agile and well-prepared workforce. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that learning initiatives align with UNDP's broader strategic goals and effectively address the needs of personnel across different country offices and regional bureaus.
Duties and Responsibilities: The People Development Analyst will have several key responsibilities, including:
Role Readiness Programme Implementation: Contributing to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning and professional development initiatives that promote role readiness for People Managers. This includes developing and maintaining a portfolio of scalable, cost-effective learning solutions tailored to the needs of UNDP's country offices and regional bureaus, as well as conducting market research to identify emerging business-driven learning opportunities.
Content Development & Digital Learning Innovation: Designing, updating, and enhancing learning materials such as presentations, guides, case studies, and multimedia resources to improve training impact. The analyst will integrate innovative digital learning methodologies and technology-driven solutions to enhance training delivery and engagement, while also monitoring and analyzing programme effectiveness using participant feedback and data-driven insights.
Partnership Development and Portfolio Growth: Fostering and strengthening strategic partnerships with UNDP country offices, regional bureaus, and other stakeholders to enhance the reach and impact of people management development programmes. This includes identifying collaborative opportunities with academic institutions and development agencies to co-develop capacity-building initiatives.
Strategic Positioning, Outreach & Knowledge Sharing: Enhancing the visibility and impact of UNDP's People Management role readiness programmes through targeted outreach and strategic communication. The analyst will plan and support high-level training events and collaborate with communication teams to ensure effective dissemination of learning opportunities across UNDP platforms.
Performing other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Required Qualifications: The position requires an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Human Resources, Adult Education, Business Development, or related Social Sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the stated areas, combined with an additional 2 years of qualifying experience, will also be considered. Candidates should have a proven track record of designing and delivering impactful learning solutions, as well as experience in developing engaging digital learning programmes. Strong background in conducting research and designing business-aligned learning solutions is essential, along with demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and partnership management. Expertise in promoting learning initiatives through strategic communication and outreach efforts is also required.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Human Resources, Adult Education, Business Development, or related Social Sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in these areas, combined with an additional 2 years of qualifying experience, will be considered in lieu of the advanced degree.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in learning, talent development, and business-driven training solutions for candidates with a master’s degree, or 4 years for those with a bachelor’s degree. Candidates should have a proven track record of designing and delivering impactful learning solutions, as well as experience in developing intuitive and engaging digital learning programmes that enhance user experience and accessibility.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another UN language, such as French or Spanish, is desirable and would be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and the incumbent will report to the People Development Specialist within the Talent Development Unit.
