Job Overview:
The International Consultant position is focused on conducting a comprehensive baseline analysis on Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) within the context of anti-corruption efforts in the Pacific region. The consultant will be responsible for producing several key reports, including an inception report, summary report, draft report, and final report, all aimed at integrating GEDSI considerations into UNODC's anti-corruption programming. The role requires a deep understanding of the intersectionality of gender and corruption, as well as the ability to engage with various stakeholders to gather insights and data. The consultant will work closely with the Pacific Regional advisor" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Anti-Corruption Advisor and will be expected to provide technical guidance to program staff on GEDSI integration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake a range of responsibilities, including conducting a desk review of existing literature and frameworks related to GEDSI and anti-corruption programming. They will engage with key stakeholders such as government agencies and civil society organizations to gather insights on GEDSI challenges and opportunities. The consultant will design and develop questionnaires to collect feedback on gender-related issues, administer tools to gather baseline data, analyze findings, and provide recommendations for strengthening GEDSI integration into the UNODC Pacific Anti-Corruption Programme. Additionally, the consultant will ensure that the methodology aligns with UNODC's guidelines and best practices in gender mainstreaming.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in sociology, gender studies, women's studies, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in similar fields, combined with two additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted. A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in conducting GEDSI analyses is required, along with at least two years of experience in human rights, gender equality, and social inclusion, preferably in the Pacific region. Experience with anti-corruption issues and a demonstrated understanding of contemporary gender issues in the Pacific are desirable.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced degree in sociology, gender studies, women's studies, or a related field. Candidates with a first-level university degree in similar fields may be considered if they have additional qualifying experience. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of gender dynamics and social inclusion in the context of anti-corruption efforts.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in conducting GEDSI analyses. Candidates should also have at least two years of experience in the fields of human rights, gender equality, and social inclusion, with a preference for experience in the Pacific region. Familiarity with anti-corruption issues and experience in designing and implementing social development interventions that focus on transformative change are also important.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent drafting and communication skills required for the position. Knowledge of another United Nations official language, such as French, is considered an advantage, as English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
