The United Nations Development Coordination Office (DCO) was established as a stand-alone coordination office within the UN Secretariat, following General Assembly Resolution A/RES/72/27

Job Overview:
The Junior Digital Solutions Analyst will play a crucial role in enhancing the digital capabilities of the DCO by customizing and implementing a Task Management System. This position involves working closely with various stakeholders to gather system requirements, develop features that meet the DCO's workflow needs, and ensure that the system is user-friendly and effective for data management and reporting. The analyst will also be responsible for data collection, cleaning, and analysis, providing insights that will support decision-making processes within the DCO. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality outputs that align with the DCO's strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Conduct stakeholder consultations to gather system requirements for the Task Management System and other digital solutions. 2) Examine existing tools to understand their architecture and functionalities, identifying features to adapt for DCO's needs. 3) Prepare a work plan with milestones and timelines for system customization and rollout. 4) Customize the Task Management System based on insights from the requirements-gathering phase. 5) Employ an iterative development approach, establishing feedback cycles with users to test and refine system functionalities. 6) Identify and compile raw data sets for the system, ensuring data accuracy and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security. 7) Develop reporting modules and user-friendly dashboards for monitoring tasks and deliverables. 8) Prepare user guides and conduct training sessions for DCO staff. 9) Conduct quality assurance tests and implement feedback from user acceptance testing. 10) Attend meetings and consultations with DCO management and stakeholders to ensure successful system rollout.

Required Qualifications:
A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, data science, information management, statistics, or a related field is required. A technical diploma combined with additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree must have at least two years of relevant professional experience, while those without a degree but holding a technical diploma must have at least four years of experience. Demonstrated experience in developing or customizing digital platforms, data cleaning, analysis, and visualization is highly desirable. Proficiency with data management and office software is required, and familiarity with data visualization tools and programming languages is an advantage.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in a relevant field such as computer science, data science, information management, or statistics. Alternatively, a technical diploma with additional years of relevant experience may be accepted. This educational background is essential for understanding the technical aspects of the role and for effectively engaging with digital solutions and data management practices.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of relevant professional experience for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, or four years for those with a technical diploma. Experience in data analysis, information management, and digital solutions is essential. Candidates should also have demonstrated experience in developing or customizing digital platforms, as well as in data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and oral, is required for this position. Knowledge of another UN official language is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication within the diverse international environment of the UN.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is expected to last for a total duration of 6 months, with a possible extension of 3 months based on performance and funding availability. The primary duty station for the consultant will be Amman, Jordan, but there may be flexibility for home-based or hybrid arrangements depending on operational needs. It is important to note that the United Nations does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process, ensuring a fair and transparent hiring process.
