Job Overview:
The position of Instructional Designing Consultant at UNDP involves creating and developing educational and training materials that align with the organization's goals and objectives. The consultant will be responsible for designing instructional strategies that enhance learning experiences and ensure that the content is engaging and effective. This role requires a deep understanding of instructional design principles and the ability to apply them in various contexts. The consultant will work closely with subject matter experts to gather information and transform it into structured learning modules. The position also entails evaluating the effectiveness of the instructional materials and making necessary revisions based on feedback and assessment results. The consultant is expected to stay updated with the latest trends in instructional design and incorporate innovative techniques into the learning materials.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs and objectives.
  • Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, training manuals, and multimedia presentations.
  • Utilize various instructional design models and methodologies to create effective learning experiences.
  • Conduct formative and summative evaluations of instructional materials to assess their effectiveness.
  • Revise and update training materials based on feedback and evaluation results.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in instructional design and integrate them into the development process.
  • Provide training and support to facilitators and trainers on the use of instructional materials.
  • Ensure that all instructional materials are aligned with UNDP's branding and quality standards.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure timely completion of assignments.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in instructional design and development of educational materials.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using e-learning authoring tools and software (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials and make data-driven decisions.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, or a related field is required. A master's degree in instructional design or a related discipline is preferred. Additional certifications in instructional design or e-learning development are a plus.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in instructional design or a related field is required. Experience working with international organizations or in a development context is highly desirable. Proven track record of designing and implementing successful training programs is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to UNDP's operations, is considered an asset.
