Job Overview: The Investigations Specialist/Team Leader RBAP is responsible for overseeing and conducting investigations into allegations of misconduct within the UNDP framework. Duties and Responsibilities: As the Investigations Specialist/Team Leader RBAP, the incumbent will coordinate and conduct investigations into allegations of misconduct, manage the RBAP Team's caseload, and ensure that all lines of inquiry are effectively pursued. Responsibilities include overseeing investigations, collecting and analyzing evidence, conducting interviews with victims and witnesses, and maintaining accurate case files. The incumbent will also review and edit investigation reports, manage team performance, and liaise with various UNDP offices and external agencies. Additionally, the role requires participation in knowledge management initiatives and ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Masters) in Criminal Justice, Investigations-related specialization, Law, Management, Finance, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor's) with an additional 2 years of relevant experience may be considered. Formal professional training in investigation-related areas is advantageous. Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in complex investigations, with demonstrated expertise in administrative misconduct and financial crimes. Specialized training in investigative techniques and familiarity with investigative software is required.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (Masters) in relevant fields such as Criminal Justice, Law, or Management is required. A Bachelor's degree with additional experience may also be acceptable. Formal training from a national law enforcement or investigations academy is considered an advantage.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience for candidates with a Master's degree, or 9 years for those with a Bachelor's degree. Experience should include complex criminal and administrative investigations, with a focus on misconduct, fraud, and workplace standards violations. Specialized training in investigative techniques and experience in managing teams are highly desirable. Familiarity with risk assessments and international investigation roles is also preferred.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of other United Nations official languages is desirable, enhancing communication and collaboration in a multilingual environment.
