The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is the lead UN agency focused on sexual and reproductive health and rights. Established in 1969, UNFPA operates in over 150 countries and has a mission to ensure that every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. The organization is committed to achieving three transformative results: ending preventable maternal deaths, ending unmet need for family planning, and ending gender-based violence and harmful practices. UNFPA's strategic plan for 2022-2025 emphasizes the importance of addressing the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on women's and girls' access to reproductive health services and rights, while also striving to recover lost gains and achieve its goals in the Decade of Action leading up to 2030.

Job Overview:
As a member of the Client Services Team, the Human Resources Associate will provide comprehensive administrative support throughout the employee lifecycle. This includes assisting the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and Regional Human Resources Analyst/Specialist in delivering high-quality HR services to clients in both Regional and Country Offices. The role involves managing recruitment processes, onboarding and offboarding staff, and ensuring compliance with UNFPA's HR policies. The HR Associate will also maintain HR data, support performance management practices, and provide guidance on HR-related queries. This position is crucial for ensuring that UNFPA's HR operations run smoothly and effectively, contributing to the organization's mission of promoting reproductive health and rights.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The HR Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: providing HR administrative support for recruitment processes, managing onboarding and offboarding procedures, maintaining HR files and records, collecting and analyzing HR data, supporting performance management practices, and administering HR client services. Specific duties include organizing recruitment logistics, preparing candidate lists, maintaining the integrity of the recruitment process, providing orientation for new staff, managing consultant contracts, and supporting learning and development initiatives. The HR Associate will also respond to HR-related queries, prepare documentation for meetings, and assist with logistical arrangements for training and development activities. Additionally, the role requires monitoring compliance with UNFPA policies and procedures, ensuring effective implementation of internal controls, and facilitating communication between HR and other departments.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in HR and/or administrative roles. Proficiency in using computers and office software packages, particularly MS Word and Excel, is essential. Experience with web-based management systems is also required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A commitment to UNFPA's values and mission is crucial, as is the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment. Candidates should exemplify integrity, accountability, and a commitment to gender equality and diversity.

Educational Background:
A completed secondary level education (high school or equivalent) is required for this position. Continuous professional development in HR practices and policies is encouraged and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in human resources or administrative functions. This experience should demonstrate a progressive increase in responsibility and complexity of tasks. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing HR processes, supporting recruitment efforts, and maintaining HR data integrity. Familiarity with UNFPA's policies and procedures, as well as experience in an international or multicultural environment, will be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Candidates with working knowledge of another official UN language (such as French, Spanish, Arabic, or Russian) are highly desirable, as this will enhance communication within the diverse UNFPA team and with international stakeholders.
