Job Overview: The Partnership Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring effective grants and financial management within Action Against Hunger. Reporting to the Associate Director of Business Development, this position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations related to grants, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate will be a motivated and flexible team player with strong analytical and communication skills, capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting tight deadlines. The Partnership Manager will support grant budget preparation, revisions, and donor reporting, while also tracking grant spending and developing spending forecasts. This role requires a proactive approach to managing partnerships and ensuring that all financial activities align with the organization's objectives and donor requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Partnership Manager's duties include but are not limited to: conducting organizational capacity assessments, financial assessments, and program assessments for partners; managing the development, delivery, and reporting of assessments; conducting pre-award assessments of potential partners; maintaining a log of action points and recommendations for each partner; ensuring timely establishment of partnership funding agreements; identifying partner capacity building needs; facilitating compliance reviews of partner transactions; serving as the main liaison for partnership inquiries; assessing current partnerships and making recommendations for development; supporting partner proposal preparation; drafting and maintaining partnership agreements; ensuring proper documentation of partnership records; coordinating with finance teams for timely payroll and grant disbursement; supporting partners in developing internal mechanisms for learning and capacity building; and providing technical support to consortium partners to ensure effective project cycle management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Development Studies or a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration, with a CPA or ACCA being an added advantage. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a humanitarian context is required. Additionally, candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in grants management, including proposal budget development, donor reporting, and audits. Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills, the ability to negotiate and influence, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's Degree in Development Studies or a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration.
