Job Overview: The position of Individual Contractor involves engaging professionals to support UNDP's procurement processes in Nigeria. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include but are not limited to:
Assisting in the preparation and execution of procurement plans and strategies.
Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
Preparing and issuing requests for proposals (RFPs), invitations to bid (ITBs), and other procurement documents.
Evaluating bids and proposals, and making recommendations for contract awards.
Ensuring compliance with UNDP procurement policies and procedures throughout the procurement process.
Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities and supplier performance.
Collaborating with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met in a timely manner.
Providing support in contract negotiations and management.
Responding to inquiries from suppliers and stakeholders regarding procurement processes. 1
Contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and practices within UNDP.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include:
A strong understanding of procurement processes and regulations, particularly within the context of international organizations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with suppliers and stakeholders.
Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in business administration, procurement, supply chain management, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification in procurement or supply chain management is preferred and may enhance the candidate's profile.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within an international organization or development context. Experience in managing procurement processes, supplier relationships, and contract negotiations is essential. Familiarity with UNDP's procurement policies and procedures is an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of UNDP. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly local languages spoken in Nigeria, is considered an asset and may enhance communication with local suppliers and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is a national contract, and candidates must be citizens or residents of Nigeria. The contract duration is typically project-based, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.
