Job Overview:
The position of Individual Consultant is aimed at developing content for the CookFund Grantee Booklets and the Integrated Approach to Sustainable Cooking Solutions Programme Brochure. The consultant will be responsible for creating informative and engaging content that effectively communicates the objectives and achievements of the CookFund initiative. This role requires a deep understanding of sustainable cooking solutions and the ability to translate complex information into accessible formats for various stakeholders. The consultant will work closely with the UNCDF team to ensure that the content aligns with the organization's mission and goals, while also meeting the needs of the target audience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive content for the CookFund Grantee Booklets, ensuring clarity and coherence in the presentation of information.
  • Create a detailed brochure for the Integrated Approach to Sustainable Cooking Solutions Programme, highlighting key initiatives and success stories.
  • Collaborate with UNCDF staff to gather relevant data, insights, and testimonials from grantees and stakeholders.
  • Conduct research on best practices in sustainable cooking solutions to inform content development.
  • Edit and revise content based on feedback from UNCDF and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all content adheres to UNCDF branding and communication guidelines.
  • Submit drafts and final versions of the content within the specified timelines.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions as required to align on project objectives and deliverables.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess strong writing and communication skills, with a proven ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences. Experience in developing educational or promotional materials related to sustainable development or cooking solutions is highly desirable. Familiarity with the UNCDF's mission and objectives will be an advantage. The consultant should also demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in communications, environmental science, sustainable development, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline will be considered an asset. The candidate should have a strong academic background that supports their ability to understand and communicate complex concepts related to sustainable cooking solutions.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in content development, preferably in the context of sustainable development or related fields. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs will be beneficial. The consultant should have a track record of producing high-quality written materials that effectively convey key messages and engage target audiences.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all content will be developed in English. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly those relevant to the regions where UNCDF operates, will be considered an advantage but is not required.

This position is for an individual contractor and is expected to last for a period of 50 working days. The consultant will work remotely but may be required to attend meetings or workshops as necessary. The role is part-time, and the consultant will be compensated based on the agreed terms outlined in the contract.
