Job Overview:
The ICT Solutions Specialist position at FAO-RNE is a critical role that focuses on the development and support of digital solutions, particularly utilizing the Microsoft Power Platform. The specialist will work closely with the National Professional Officer for Information and Communication Technology and collaborate with the IT team in Cairo. The role requires a strong understanding of modern integrated solutions using O365, particularly PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI. The specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying applications that enhance the efficiency of FAO's operations in the Near East and North Africa region. This position also involves training users, maintaining applications, and ensuring that the solutions meet the organization's needs while adhering to established technical standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The ICT Solutions Specialist will perform a variety of duties related to Information Systems, including:
  • Providing expertise in SharePoint and the Power Platform suite, including PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Designing, developing, and deploying modern O365 solutions based on PowerApps to meet organizational needs.
  • Maintaining and supporting RNE Power Apps applications, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective.
  • Collecting and evaluating good practices to contribute to the continuous improvement of applications.
  • Designing and maintaining required reports and dashboards to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Participating in training sessions, creating documentation, and providing user support to ensure effective use of the applications.
  • Remaining flexible and ready to take on additional duties as assigned by the ICT Officer.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s level degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electric or Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s level degree combined with two years of relevant experience may be considered equivalent. Additionally, candidates should have a working knowledge (level C) of one FAO language relevant to the assignment, and experience levels vary based on the category: one to four years for category C, five to nine years for category B, and at least ten years for category A in developing digital solutions using Power Platform.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electric or Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
