Job Overview:
The Liaison Officer position is designed to ensure the effective coordination and support of activities aligned with the FAO's mandate. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Director of the FAO Liaison Office and the LOG Liaison Officer responsible for rural transformation and gender equality. The role involves championing FAO's contributions to the 2030 Agenda through its Strategic Framework, particularly in relation to gender equality and rural women's empowerment. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Liaison Officer include:
  • Supporting the organization and delivery of thematic dialogues related to rural transformation and gender equality, including drafting reports and collaborating with various agencies.
  • Assisting in the preparation and reporting of FAO's interventions for the Human Rights Council sessions, including organizing side events focused on the Right to Food.
  • Participating in deliberations related to migration, decent rural employment, and social protection, and reporting on these discussions.
  • Supporting advocacy webinars on the Right to Food and strengthening partnerships with Geneva-based agencies.
  • Assisting in the global monitoring and analysis of the Right to Food, including organizing meetings and conducting research on indicators.
  • Supporting capacity-strengthening initiatives and managing information related to the Group of Friends of the Right to Food.
  • Performing other related office duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Agriculture, Social or Political Sciences, Law, Economics, Public Administration, International Relations, or a related field relevant to the work of the Organization.
