Job Overview: The Documentation Consultant position is a critical role within the UNDP Philippines office, focusing on the procurement process as an individual contractor. The consultant will be responsible for producing high-quality audio-visual documentation that captures the essence of UNDP projects and initiatives. This role requires a blend of creativity and technical expertise in video production, photography, and multimedia development. The consultant will work over a period of 60 person-days spread across 7 months, engaging with various stakeholders to ensure that the documentation aligns with UNDP's standards and effectively communicates the intended messages. The consultant is expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of the latest technologies in video and photo capture, as well as proficiency in editing software, to produce compelling visual narratives that support UNDP's mission in the Philippines.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Documentation Consultant will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Developing a detailed work plan for the documentation process, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
Conducting interviews and gathering information from project stakeholders to inform the documentation.
Capturing high-quality video and photographic content during project activities and events.
Editing and producing final video and photo documentation that meets UNDP's quality standards.
Collaborating with the UNDP team to ensure that the documentation effectively communicates project impacts and success stories.
Providing technical support and guidance on the use of audio-visual equipment and software to project teams.
Ensuring compliance with UNDP's branding and communication guidelines in all produced materials.
Submitting drafts and final products for review and incorporating feedback as necessary.
Maintaining organized records of all documentation materials and processes.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the Documentation Consultant position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Training certifications in videography, photography, journalism, or visual arts are highly desirable.
A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in audio-video production, photo documentation, and multimedia development.
Experience working with international organizations is considered an advantage.
Strong knowledge and experience in video production processes, including technical know-how on the latest technologies in video/photo capture.
Familiarity with editing software and the ability to produce high-quality visual content.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Additional training certifications in videography, photography, journalism, or visual arts are preferred and will enhance the candidate's profile. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultant has the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively carry out the responsibilities of the role.
Experience: The position requires at least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the fields of audio-video production, photo documentation, and multimedia development. Candidates with experience in international organizations will have an advantage, as they will be familiar with the standards and expectations of working in a global context. The consultant should demonstrate a strong portfolio of previous work that showcases their expertise in video production and multimedia documentation.
Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English and Tagalog is mandatory for this position. Additionally, candidates should be able to speak at least one of the major dialects of Mindanao, such as Bisaya, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, or Ilonggo. This linguistic capability is crucial for effective communication with local stakeholders and for capturing the cultural nuances in the documentation process.
Additional Notes: The contract for the Documentation Consultant position is for a duration of 60 person-days spread over 7 months. This role is classified as an individual contractor position, which means that the consultant will work independently rather than as a full-time employee of UNDP.
