Job Overview: The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting UNESCO’s initiatives related to environmental sustainability and community engagement through the creation of digital content. This position is aligned with UNESCO’s Program and Budget for 2024-2025, specifically within Major Programme II: Natural and Exact Sciences. The primary focus will be on developing engaging digital content that resonates with diverse audiences, particularly youth and local communities, to promote the objectives of the UNESCO Green Citizens initiative. This includes creating multimedia content such as posts, videos, and infographics that effectively communicate sustainability themes and foster engagement across various social media platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
Content Creation: Develop and design engaging posts, videos, and multimedia content for social media platforms in French, English, and Spanish, ensuring alignment with the objectives of the UNESCO Green Citizens initiative.
Audience Engagement: Produce content that resonates with youth and local communities, focusing on environmental sustainability and community engagement.
Key Messaging: Assist in drafting key messages for the website and social media channels, including success stories and updates related to the Green Citizens Campaign.
Visual Content: Create visually compelling graphics, infographics, and videos that highlight key elements of the initiative.
Content Management: Regularly update content across all digital platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with campaign messaging.
Video Production: Produce and edit videos that are engaging and informative, aligned with the initiative's objectives.
Collaboration: Participate in brainstorming sessions with the social media team and work with the editorial committee to design newsletters.
Monitoring: Track the performance of content on social media platforms and analyze metrics to assess the effectiveness of digital campaigns, adjusting strategies as necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in communication, graphic design, or a related field. Additionally, they should have at least 4 years of professional experience in content creation, graphic design, video production, or similar roles, particularly in a sustainability or environmental context. Experience with social media platforms and a proven ability to create engaging multimedia content is essential.
