Job Overview: The Field Maintenance Engineer is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities at construction and maintenance project sites. This role involves supervising contractors to ensure that all work is executed according to contract documents, maintaining quality standards, and adhering to health and safety regulations. The incumbent will monitor the quality of materials and workmanship, ensuring compliance with specifications and conducting necessary inspections. The engineer will also evaluate and agree on the quantities of work executed by contractors, verify payment requests, and maintain accurate records of project activities. This position requires strong project management skills, the ability to resolve technical difficulties, and effective communication with team members and contractors. The Field Maintenance Engineer will prepare reports, assess variations in contracts, and ensure that all documentation is up to date and accessible on-site. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Field Maintenance Engineer include:
Managing all daily activities at construction and maintenance sites, ensuring compliance with contract documents and quality standards.
Supervising contractor work to ensure adherence to health and safety, gender requirements, and quality specifications.
Monitoring material quality and workmanship, conducting necessary tests, and ensuring compliance with specifications.
Evaluating and agreeing on work quantities with contractors, verifying payment requests, and ensuring conformity with executed quantities.
Maintaining accurate records of working, shop, and as-built drawings, and documenting any deviations from the original plans.
Preparing Variation Orders and Extension of Time requests as needed, assessing additional work details, and maintaining records in the Facilities ManagementInformation System (FMIS).
Conducting site visits to resolve issues and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Reviewing and approving contractor methods for safe execution of works and certifying labor and equipment schedules.
Monitoring maintenance schedules, costs, and quality on a daily and weekly basis, ensuring compliance with contract requirements. 1
Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution. Additionally, they should demonstrate strong project management skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a team environment. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills and the ability to perform at a supervisory level with minimal direct supervision. A good understanding of health and safety regulations, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments, is essential for success in this role.
Educational Background: A university degree in civil engineering from an accredited university or institution is required for this position. Additional Notes: The position is offered as a Limited Duration Contract (LDC) for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The monthly basic salary for this position is JOD 1,025.30, and additional benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave (pro-rated), sick leave, maternity leave, and paternity leave. Candidates must reside in the West Bank or Jerusalem and possess the necessary authorization to work in the duty station.
