Job Overview: The Administrative Officer position is crucial for supporting the operational and administrative functions of the Medical Section within UNMISS. The incumbent will work under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) to ensure the effective management of human resources and administrative processes. This role involves providing comprehensive support in recruitment, workforce planning, budget preparation, and responding to audit findings. The Administrative Officer will play a key role in maintaining accurate accounting and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with organizational rules, and facilitating the smooth operation of medical services for UN personnel. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a challenging environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Officer include:
Providing administrative and human resources support to the Medical Section staff, including assistance with recruitment and talent acquisition processes.
Supporting workforce planning and development initiatives for UNV recruitment.
Gathering and providing information necessary to address audit findings and observations.
Assisting in the preparation of budget submissions and cost plans for the Medical Section.
Ensuring that accurate accounting, reporting, and internal control systems are in place and functioning effectively.
Preparing and administering the budget activities of the Medical Section, including reviewing medical bills for Level II and Level III hospitals related to UNMISS personnel.
Collaborating with other sections to finalize the Medical Section's budget.
Performing any other duties as assigned by the CMO or DCMO, which may include additional administrative tasks or support as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Administrative Officer position must possess a high degree of integrity and professionalism, demonstrating personal initiative and a willingness to accept wide-ranging responsibilities.
