Job Overview: The Air Operations Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the aviation operations of the UNVMC (United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia). Duties and Responsibilities: The Air Operations Assistant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: pre-planning flight activities and submitting them for approval, acting as a Flight Monitor during air missions, compiling daily projected Air Tasking Orders (ATOs), and communicating these orders to relevant personnel. The assistant will monitor daily flights, report take-offs and landings, and coordinate with local administration and aviation authorities. Additional duties include posting notices to airmen, liaising with Regional Administrative Officers regarding air support requirements, securing threat assessment reports, disseminating weather reports, planning ramp operations, coordinating search and rescue operations, and reporting any flight amendments or safety hazards. The assistant will also maintain a database for crew members, file risk assessment reports, and prepare daily situation reports to share with the Mission Air Operations Center.
