Job Overview:
The position involves leading and providing technical support for the execution of activities, projects, and strategies related to the commitments and responsibilities of the Gender, Human Rights, and Interculturality Area of UNFPA Colombia. The professional will be responsible for promoting gender equality, empowering women, addressing gender-based violence, and eradicating harmful practices. The role also includes managing information and knowledge within the area, ensuring that the organization's goals are met effectively. The ideal candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong ethical principles and a commitment to human rights, while also being innovative and results-oriented in their approach to work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The professional will develop and review strategic and technical documents related to gender equality, sexual and reproductive rights, and the eradication of harmful practices. They will support the management of quantitative information and statistics on gender and gender-based violence, contributing to the development of documents, projects, and strategies. The role includes leading actions aimed at preventing and eradicating harmful practices such as female genital mutilation and child marriages. Additionally, the professional will design and implement capacity-building activities for women and officials from national and territorial institutions, community-based organizations, and other prioritized actors. They will also support the ideation and construction of technical and financial proposals for social projects aligned with the area’s interests, engage in advocacy and political dialogue, and manage alliances with national and territorial institutions, civil society organizations, and other strategic actors. The professional will prepare technical inputs for progress reports, monitoring, and evaluation, while maintaining confidentiality regarding documents and information handled during the contract. Full-time availability is required for the fulfillment of responsibilities, and other tasks may be assigned by the Gender Advisor related to the management of the area.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, social sciences, or political science. A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in gender equality, sexual rights, reproductive rights, women's empowerment, gender-based violence, and harmful practices is required. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of UNFPA's mission, vision, and values, and show sensitivity to cultural and gender issues. They must also have the ability to communicate effectively and maintain good working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for candidates who have studied economics, social sciences, or political science. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of gender issues and the socio-political context in which UNFPA operates.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in areas related to gender equality, sexual and reproductive rights, women's empowerment, and addressing gender-based violence.
