Job Overview: The Information Systems Assistant position is crucial for the effective operation of the ICT department within MONUSCO. The role involves providing comprehensive technical assistance in video conferencing and security systems, ensuring that all technological aspects of the mission's operations run smoothly. The assistant will work under the direct supervision of the ICT Operations Officer and will be responsible for developing design concepts and specifications for various physical security systems, including video surveillance and access control. Duties and Responsibilities: The Information Systems Assistant will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: providing technical assistance for video conferencing and camp security systems; developing design concepts and specifications for physical security systems; supporting simultaneous interpretation platforms and audio-visual systems; assisting in the implementation of security projects; troubleshooting system performance issues; maintaining electronic inventories of security hardware and software; training end-users on system operations; participating in security incident response activities; and performing regular vulnerability assessments of production systems. The assistant will also be expected to prepare documentation and project drawings related to security systems and provide recommendations for compliance with industry standards.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong technical skills in information systems and security technologies. They should have a solid understanding of video conferencing systems, physical security systems, and audio-visual technologies. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure in challenging environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting are essential. Familiarity with UN security standards and protocols is highly desirable.
