Job Overview:
The Programme Coordination Specialist position is situated within the Regional Office for West and Central Africa (ROSEN) of the UNODC in Dakar, Senegal. The role involves working under the direct supervision of the Deputy Regional Representative in the Coordination Unit. The primary function of this position is to support the implementation of the UNODC Strategic Framework for Engagement with countries in West Africa (SFEWA) for the period 2025-203
  • This includes liaising with stakeholders to collect, analyze, and disseminate data related to UNODC's strategic engagement in the region. The specialist will also prepare various written outputs such as background documentation, proposals, and reports, and participate in the monitoring and evaluation of the SFEWA. Additionally, the role requires providing substantive inputs to annual reports, organizing donor meetings, and promoting knowledge management within the organization. The position also entails supporting the revision of the UNODC Regional Project for Central Africa and preparing the Strategic Framework for Engagement with countries in Central Africa (SFECA).

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Coordination Specialist include:
  • Supporting the implementation of the UNODC Strategic Framework for Engagement with countries in West Africa (SFEWA) by liaising with relevant stakeholders to collect, analyze, and disseminate data.
  • Preparing various written outputs, including background documentation, talking points, proposals, concept notes, analyses, reports, and inputs for publications.
  • Participating in the monitoring and evaluation of the SFEWA and providing substantive inputs to annual reports, particularly regarding the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Organizing and participating in donor meetings and Steering Committee meetings for projects and programs under the SFEWA.
  • Promoting knowledge management to ensure access to best practices and facilitate organizational learning.
  • Supporting the revision of the UNODC Regional Project for Central Africa and preparing the Strategic Framework for Engagement with countries in Central Africa (SFECA).
  • Ensuring coordination and coherence in the delivery of UNODC’s programming in Central Africa.
  • Providing administrative support to UNODC program offices in Central Africa and developing a mapping of activities in the region.
  • Strengthening knowledge and understanding of volunteerism and participating in UNV activities. 1
  • Contributing articles and write-ups on field experiences for UNV publications and assisting with the UNV Buddy Programme for new volunteers.

Required Qualifications:
