Job Overview: The position of Online Volunteer for the UNODC Global Programme on Criminal Network Disruption (GPCD) involves supporting the communications team by producing graphic designs that align with the organization's branding efforts. The GPCD was established to enhance intelligence-led and cooperative criminal justice responses across regions, aiming to disrupt criminal networks effectively. The Online Volunteer will work closely with the CRIMJUST Coordinator and the communications team to review and update existing design templates for various documents, including reports, certificates of participation, project proposals, and roadmap documents. The designs must adhere to the corporate design guidelines provided by UNODC. This role offers a unique opportunity to connect with the Global Programme team and gain insights into how graphic design can contribute to branding and communication strategies within an international organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Online Volunteer will be responsible for the following duties:
Review and update existing graphic design templates for reports, certificates of participation, project proposals, and roadmap documents based on the UNODC GPCD-CRIMJUST logos and templates.
Ensure that all designs comply with UNODC's corporate design guidelines.
Collaborate closely with the communications team to understand the specific needs and objectives of the graphic design projects.
Participate in meetings with the Global Programme team to discuss design concepts and gather feedback.
Contribute creative ideas and suggestions to enhance the visual communication of the Global Programme.
Build professional connections within the UNODC team and gain experience in the field of graphic design for international organizations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a strong background in graphic design, with proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Familiarity with corporate branding and design principles is essential. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively is also required. Candidates should demonstrate creativity and a keen eye for detail in their design work. Experience in working with international organizations or non-profits is a plus, but not mandatory.
Educational Background: A degree or diploma in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques. Relevant coursework or certifications in graphic design software will be advantageous.
Experience: While prior experience in graphic design is preferred, it is not strictly required. Candidates with a portfolio showcasing their design work will be given preference. Experience in working on projects related to international development, public health, or law enforcement may be beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications and design guidelines will be provided in English. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to UNODC's work, such as Spanish or French, would be considered an asset.
