Duties and Responsibilities: The international electoral advisor will have a range of responsibilities, including: facilitating and assisting members of the National Election Authority (ANE) in capacity building; supporting the ANE in organizing meetings with local authorities at the prefecture and local community levels, including traditional and religious leaders and women's groups, to inform them about the electoral process and civic education campaign; assisting local structures of the ANE in developing a civic education and electoral campaign; supporting the ANE in implementing awareness-raising and information activities regarding the electoral process and voting procedures; helping the ANE members develop a network of cooperation with non-governmental organizations (NGOs); assisting NGOs in designing awareness-raising activities for the population; supporting the development of civic education and electoral awareness materials; ensuring follow-up and feedback to headquarters on civic education activities in the field; supporting the implementation of training for trainers in civic education, as necessary; collaborating in the preparation of daily, weekly, and other planning tools at the regional electoral office (BER); encouraging, mobilizing, and supporting colleagues, other UN Volunteers, and local community members to play an active role in developing activities on a voluntary basis; and performing any other tasks as requested by the supervisor.
