Job Overview: The User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Expert will play a crucial role in enhancing the technological capabilities of ESCWA as part of its Digital Transformation initiative. This position involves developing and improving websites and applications that align with the UNICT strategy and meet the specific needs of ESCWA. The expert will be responsible for applying UX/UI principles to create user-friendly interfaces, ensuring that the digital products are not only functional but also visually appealing and accessible. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to interpret user requirements and translate them into effective system specifications. The expert will also be involved in maintaining and upgrading existing digital platforms, conducting research on new technologies, and supporting data visualization and analytics initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The UX/UI Expert will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: developing websites and applications according to established UN standards, maintaining and enhancing existing digital products, conducting unit and integrated testing, interpreting user requirements, researching new technologies, preparing technical documentation and training materials, providing support for deployed websites, and training staff on completed products. The expert will also be expected to assist in data visualization and analytics initiatives, ensuring that all deliverables align with the strategic goals of UN ICT and ESCWA.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Web Design, Web Development, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related fields. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in designing and developing high-quality web-based applications and responsive websites is essential. Proficiency in Drupal CMS and the LAMP stack is required, along with knowledge of UX/UI concepts and principles. Experience with version control systems such as GIT is also necessary. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite tools and an understanding of current web development trends and standards are desirable qualifications.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Web Development, or Information Technology. Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in the design and development of web-based applications and responsive websites.
